ELEVATOR SHAFT AS MAIN MULTI-LEVEL ROUTING SPACE
The thickest structure in a building is the elevator shaft where there is an ample amount of space for routing charging cables.
Description
My idea is very simple and focuses on safety, practicality and cost efficiency. Being exposed to building blueprints I came up with the idea utilizing the elevator shaft as the main "highway" or routing area for charging cables from the penthouse down to the lowest basement parking area. The elevator shaft idea is safe since there is ample space to route the cable, has access to all floor levels and it has the thickest walls in a building. With this concept, modular upgrades are possible since each floor level can be a source of power generation via solar (solar panel windows) or mechanical (escalators/elevators with regenerative breaking). Without the need to punch holes through floors, the structural integrity of the building is intact; also promoting less labor cost. Each level of the underground parking space can now have access to power replenishment for its charging modules.
