Think outside the box: "Valet Charging"
Offer a valet service for electric vehicles where GWG tenants drop-off their vehicle and will receive it fully charged.
Description
Based on the challenge at hand, the idea is to influence the "revenue" side of the equation, rather than the "investment" necessary to supply and charge electric vehicles, which will also partially be achieved by this idea, by centralizing infrastructure. By offering a valet "charging" and parking service, GWG could offer a premium service that is rather included (and thus an attractive benefit) or charged via the rent payment or as annual fee (combined with the charging cost or power bill). The system would work as a usual "valet" concept, where clients would drop-off their car and hand it over to either personell or (see picture) a parking robot, who/which then will take over the car and bring it to the charging unit. After being charged the car can be returned to the parking spot of the customer. The concept could also be combined with a sharing concept, where customers receive or drop-off their shared car. The advantage for GWG is a clear orientation for service and sustainability which is in line with the companies strategy, as well as a very positive media feedback. In terms of infrastructure, the charging hubs could be centrally located in one place (where the valet driver or parking robots will deliver the car to (e.g. in the middle of several properties) and thus the investment would be limited. Costs should be planned and considered for running the service including personell. The concept could be supplemented by additional services, such as e.g. car cleaning, tire pressure control, maintenance or similar.
