Though still in experimental stages ,LIFI electrocharging can be a very strong possibility and the best solution for underground parking. Conventional any kind of wired charging whether electric or solar or windpower will require good amount of infrastructure cost w.r.t. digging and laying of cables etc. Also will require additional cost for minor repairs as again digging will be required so will also be cumbersome specially where labour cost is higher in country such as Germany where solution is sought. Wireless charging through WiFi being possibility will be better though not giving sufficient power to charge cars. Underground car park will already be having good amount of lighting fixtures .This preexisting lighting fixtures can be fitted with very reasonably priced VLC devices and can be used for electrocharging of cars through LIFI. The benefits of electrocharging through LIFI as compared to WiFi will be: 1)lifi transmits power using preexisting light with help of LED bulbs so cost for additional infrastructure is extremely low . 2) WiFi will have interference issue from nearby access points( routers) ,lifi will not have such issues. 3) The capacity to charge will be much faster - achieved at the rate of 224 Gbps / sec . 4) WiFi can be costlier as licence required for radioband and higher installation cost whereas lifi - no licence cost and cheap vlc device cost. 5) As light gets blocked by walls etc. lifi signal is more secure and less hackable. 6)Underground reception of WiFi is difficult though lifi transmission through preexisting light sources would be very dense. 7)Light used for lifi has 10000 times more frequency spectrum of radio which is used for WiFi. 8) Ecological impact of LIFI is much lower than WiFi and very much lower than electrical charging. 9) Power consumption of LiFi is very low as compared to WiFi. 10) The absolute wirelesd WiFi charging may not be focused whereas lifi can be focused using high intensity focused lights and adjusting of light fixtures such as use of mirror and change in curvature . 11)Most of other types of charging Will involve simultaneous charging of only few cars but as light fixtures can be above each car park hence charging of simultaneous charging of 100 s or even 1000s of cars is possible through LIFI charging. P.s. little modification in terms of infrared lifi is supposed to be even better than the above solution though it is a patented technology and IPR cost may be involved . Overall electrocharging through LIFI can be one of the cheapest and best possible method for underground parking.
